IVECO is offering attendees at TruckShowX the chance to get behind the wheel of its eDaily 7T and drive it on nearby public roads during the event’s two-day drive program.
Ben Osborn, IVECO Trucks Australia National Manager – Light Sales and eSpecialist, says the company is excited to be showcasing its electric fleet solutions at TruckShowX.
IVECO has a long and proud history in Australia, entering the local market in 1992 when it acquired International Trucks Australia. After successfully manufacturing commercial vehicles locally, IVECO transitioned to become a full importer of commercial vehicles, providing customers with faster access to the latest technologies from Europe.
IVECO’s eDAILY model is a prime example of how effective that approach can be. Crucially, it offers the same cargo volume, payload, agility and transformability as the standard diesel versions, and no restrictions on choice, as the entire Daily line-up is available in the pure electric format.
“The soon to be released eDaily range bolsters IVECO’s popular Euro6 ICE van and light truck line-up, providing several options for private companies and organisations looking to further decarbonise their operations,” Osborn says.
“Prospective operators are already well familiar with the Daily platform, with all the benefits of the range carried over to the eDaily models, ensuring a seamless transition for drivers and fleet managers.
“With a variety of van and cab chassis options available and an impressive range, the eDaily will be well placed to fulfil a wide selection of metropolitan and urban applications, eliminating tailpipe emissions in environments where it’s most needed.”
Adam Ritzinger, HVIA Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Manager, agrees that providing the industry with decarbonisation opportunities that are based on already proven platforms is an effective way of encouraging the transition.
“There are incredible opportunities for battery electric vehicles in urban and extra-urban transport, and the eDaily models cater for a huge range of operations,” he adds.
TruckShowX driving opportunities will take place on the incredible coastal roads near adjacent to RACV Cape Schank, which is the event’s spectacular venue. Read more here.
Alongside the driving opportunities, TruckShowX will unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.
The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.
