Volkswagen Australia has revealed pricing and specifications for the ID.4 and ID.5 models, ahead of their local debut at Everything Electric show in Sydney on March 7-9.
The ID.4 Pro has been priced from $59,990 and the ID.5 GTX from $72,990, with the first deliveries set for mid-2025. Volkswagen Australia has also confirmed that the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 Pro will join the range from July.
The Pro delivers 210kW of power and 545Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels, which is good for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.7 seconds. Claimed WLTP range for the model is a competitive 544km.
Stepping up, the GTX delivers 250kW and rear-bias all-wheel drive, capable of 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds while also offering a WLTP range of 522km.
Standard equipment across models includes IQ.LIGHT Matrix LED headlamps with adaptive high beam, 3D LED rear lights with dynamic indicators, keyless access, power tailgate, panoramic roof with electric blind, ArtVelours microfleece upholstery, power adjustable front seats with memory and massage function, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control air conditioning, 12.9-inch infotainment with App-Connect and Area View 360-degree camera.
Volkswagen’s Travel Assist combining Adaptive Cruise Control with active Lane Assist is also standard, along with Side Assist, Emergency Assist, oncoming vehicle braking when turning and swerve support, proactive passenger protection system and front/rear parking sensors.
Mode 2 and 3 cables are included, with GoConnect app connectivity providing functions such as live technical status, state of charge and vehicle location.
Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles director Piergiorgio Minto said the focus of the ID. 4 and ID. 5 is to launch these fully electric medium SUVs as better value, better engineered and better backed than existing rivals.
“We said recently that we were driving hard to achieve the best position for ID. 4 and ID. 5,” Mr Minto said.
“Volkswagen is delivering on that promise with high specification for the price, higher outputs and longer range than most rivals, with the pedigree of German engineering and the local focus on making BEV ownership easy.
“As the only brand that has consistently made performance petrol SUVs available to customers, the ID. 4 Pro and ID. 5 GTX now speak directly to Tiguan customers and SUV customers with BEV and petrol pricing aligned. Whether refuelled or recharged, Volkswagen has a leading SUV available.”
