At the opening address of the Everything Electric Show in Sydney last week, CEO Dan Caesar, talked about the potential of vehicle-to-grid and how it could be the game changer for the renewable energy transition globally.
“One of the things that we’re really excited about is about vehicle-to-x, or vehicle-to-grid, vehicle-to-load bi-directional charging. We think that once that becomes a reality, this whole market is going to go to another level,” said Caesar.
“Certainly in the UK at the moment, 95% of the time your car just sits on the drive. A very very expensive asset to just be sit there. Vehicle-to-grid, vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-whatever is gonna be very powerful and we have a number of different things in this hall that are being powered by cars. Once people realise that their car can actually be used for much more than just moving from A to Z.”
To demonstrate the capability of a battery in an electric car the Zero Carbon Kitchen was powered over the three show days by an MG4.
