BYD is proud to announce an exciting new addition to its popular SEALION 6 lineup. Australia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV just became even more advanced with the launch of the new SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range variant, delivering greater electric driving capability and efficiency.
With more than 5,000 SEALION 6 vehicles already delivered to Australian customers this year, the new variant underscores BYD’s commitment to innovation and leadership in EV technology.
The SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range features a 26.6kWh BYD Blade Battery, increasing capacity by a remarkable 45% compared to the 18.3kWh battery of the Standard Range. This enhancement boosts the vehicle’s EV-only range from 80–90km to 120–140km, depending on driving conditions.
Paired with BYD’s groundbreaking DM-i (Dual Mode – Intelligent) hybrid system, the SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range offers a combined driving range of approximately 1,092km (WLTP), providing the confidence to go further whether you’re commuting or adventuring.

With the average Australian commuting just 30km a day, the SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range can serve as a near-full-time EV for daily driving, while maintaining long-range flexibility for weekends away, eliminating range anxiety once and for all.
Fuel efficiency is another standout. Using just 1.1L per 100km, the SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range significantly outperforms many conventional hybrids that average more than 4.8L/100km.
The SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range is available from today at a national retail price of $46,990 plus on-road costs.
Combining sleek European styling with new comfort and personalisation options, the SEALION 6 Dynamic Extended Range is offered with an all-new black interior and exterior colour choices including Arctic White, Stone Grey, Harbour Grey, and Cosmos Black.
