Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is accelerating its electric vehicle (EV) charging rollout through new partnerships with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) and Parkin Company, expanding the city’s EV Green Charger network.
Launched in 2014, DEWA’s EV Green Charger initiative now includes more than 1,500 public charging points across the emirate. The latest agreements mark a significant expansion in infrastructure to support the city’s rapid shift toward low-emission transport.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, said the partnerships demonstrate Dubai’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its broader environmental goals.
“In collaboration with our partners from the government and private sectors, we are enhancing Dubai’s green mobility journey by building and developing an integrated infrastructure for charging electric vehicles,” Al Tayer said. “This contributes to reducing carbon emissions and achieving the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy.”
ENOC: Fast charging at service stations
DEWA’s agreement with ENOC Group will see the expansion of fast-charging facilities at ENOC service stations throughout Dubai. The partnership aims to ensure EV drivers can access reliable charging where they already refuel, supporting the city’s growing EV ownership base.
Dubai Taxi: 208 ultra-fast chargers for fleet operations
A long-term contract between DEWA and Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) will see the installation of 208 ultra-fast charging points across DTC sites. The rollout will directly support the taxi operator’s fleet transformation strategy, helping the company meet sustainability targets and reduce emissions from high-utilisation vehicles.
Parkin: Expanding public access
Through a strategic contract with Parkin Company, DEWA will also extend EV charging access to public car parks across Dubai. The first phase includes 100 new chargers at key locations such as residential communities, shopping centres and leisure precincts. A wider rollout will follow as part of a city-wide program to normalise EV access.
The combined efforts are designed to strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in green and sustainable mobility, while giving both private motorists and fleet operators greater confidence to adopt EVs.
