Chery has teamed up with Australian-owned IRONMAN 4X4 to give its Stockman plug-in hybrid ute a range of accessories covering off-road protection, storage, towing and suspension.
The range adds familiar Australian four-wheel-drive equipment to a ute combining turbo-diesel power with plug-in hybrid technology.
The Stockman’s claimed outputs of 350kW and 800Nm are backed by low-range gearing, triple differential locks and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity. The partnership builds on that hardware with accessories developed specifically for the vehicle.
“No matter how capable the Stockman is, Australian off-roaders still want a bull bar, a lift, a canopy and a roof rack,” said Lucas Harris, Chief Operating Officer, Chery Australia.
“This range is how they get that, backed by a trusted Australian brand.”
Aluminium features across the range
IRONMAN 4X4 worked closely with Chery to adapt its established accessory catalogue for the Stockman PHEV.
Selected components use 5052 aluminium alloy, chosen to balance strength, corrosion resistance and low weight.
Leading the range is the APEX bull bar, a full-width, triple-hoop aluminium design incorporating a 12,000lb winch cradle, two rated recovery points and a 4mm front skid plate.
Premium side rails and steel steps add sill protection, with slip-resistant treads providing easier access to the cabin and roof.
A low-profile Raid aluminium roof rack is designed to reduce wind noise and integrate with the vehicle’s appearance, with optional light bar mounting available.
More storage, greater versatility
The Raid canopy uses aluminium construction and offers a choice of solid or glass doors, along with optional central locking.
Weighing approximately 70kg fitted, the canopy has stated roof load ratings of 180kg dynamic and 380kg static. Available additions include side storage, dog windows and roof bars.
Aluminium roller drawers provide further storage options, with different heights, integrated fridge slides and close-fitting wing panels.
A rear-step tow bar matches the Stockman’s stated 3.5-tonne towing capacity and incorporates rated recovery points.
The IM2.5 suspension package adds a 50mm lift front and rear, with spring options designed for 200kg or 300kg constant loads.
Seven-year accessory warranty
Chery says the accessory line-up has been engineered and validated to OEM-level requirements, with testing against applicable Australian Design Rules and relevant standards.
The programme covers structural performance, load capacity, corrosion, water ingress, lighting, durability and vehicle integration.
“The partnership gave us proper under-the-hood access to the Stockman,” said Chris Hole from IRONMAN 4X4.
“That is why we will match Chery’s 7-year manufacturer warranty on IRONMAN 4X4 accessories ordered with the vehicle.”
IRONMAN 4X4 also expects to introduce a federally approved gross vehicle mass upgrade, including front and rear axle-load upgrades, following the initial launch.
Plug-in power meets Australian off-road accessories
The partnership shows how the growing plug-in hybrid ute market is extending beyond powertrain technology into the accessories that owners use to personalise their vehicles.
For the Stockman, it brings protection, touring equipment and load-carrying options into the dealership ordering process, supported by collaboration between the vehicle manufacturer and an established Australian accessory supplier.
