MG Motor Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering hybrid technology at an accessible price point, unveiling new nationwide Drive Away Pricing across its HYBRID+ and SUPER HYBRID models—including the highly anticipated MG HS HYBRID+, due in September.
CEO Peter Ciao said the new strategy is part of MG’s vision to offer “innovation without compromise – at prices Australians can afford.”
A Hybrid for Every Australian Driver
Ciao’s bold statement—“I want to see MG using our presence and technical leadership to make advanced solutions, like HYBRID+ and SUPER HYBRID, accessible to more Australians around the country”—was backed by new pricing that makes the hybrid switch more financially appealing for both private and fleet buyers.
The Drive Away Pricing campaign, effective from 1 July 2025, reflects MG’s approach to hold or reduce its manufacturer prices across all hybrid models.
The latest launch of the MG HS HYBRID+ adds further depth to the range, with:
- HS HYBRID+ Excite from $42,990 Drive Away
- HS HYBRID+ Essence from $46,990 Drive Away
Both models come with a 10-year/250,000km warranty, when serviced at an MG-authorised dealership—making them a low-risk proposition for cost-conscious drivers.

Designed for Australian Roads
MG says its hybrid powertrains have been co-developed with global parent company SAIC Group, specifically engineered for Australian driving conditions. “We’ve worked even harder with SAIC Group to have vehicles engineered specifically for demanding Australian conditions,” said Ciao.
This aligns with the brand’s focus on delivering practical, reliable performance. With power, fuel-efficiency, and competitive pricing, MG aims to make hybrid the new mainstream.
A Competitive Novated Lease Option
For novated lease buyers, these new prices are especially appealing. With no luxury brand baggage, MG’s affordable hybrids are well placed to reduce take-home pay deductions, deliver strong income tax savings, and offer GST benefits.
For example, the MG3 HYBRID+ Excite, starting at $28,990 driveaway , offers the potential for:
- Significant income tax savings via salary packaging
- Reduced running costs from improved fuel economy
- Peace of mind with a 10-year warranty—ideal for long-term lease planning
Fleet Managers Take Note
MG’s decision to hold or reduce OEM prices before on-road costs is welcome news for fleet procurement managers navigating budget pressures. The ZS and MG3 already dominate the light hatch and compact SUV segments. Now, with a broader hybrid line-up, MG is positioning itself as a cost-effective fleet partner for organisations looking to reduce fuel consumption and emissions—without the complexity of transitioning to full electric.
Ciao summed it up simply: “We hear from local drivers that value for them means innovation without compromise.” The new Drive Away Pricing campaign delivers just that.
