Geely will expand its Australian electric vehicle range with the EX2, a compact rear-wheel-drive hatchback.
The new model will be offered in Complete and Inspire variants, with pricing starting from $26,490 plus on-road costs and rising to $30,990 plus on-road costs.
The EX2 enters a growing market for smaller and more affordable electric vehicles, combining compact exterior dimensions with an interior designed to provide the space and practicality of a larger car.
The entry-level Complete offers up to 252km of WLTP driving range, while the Inspire increases this to 345km through a larger battery and more powerful electric motor.
Both variants use lithium iron phosphate batteries with liquid cooling and feature a rear-wheel-drive layout. Multi-link independent rear suspension is also standard, rather than the simpler torsion-beam arrangement commonly used in small cars.
Australian-market versions receive a ride and handling tune developed with Geely Technology Europe to better suit local and European driving preferences.
A tight 9.9-metre turning circle should make the EX2 particularly suited to urban environments, where ease of parking and manoeuvrability are likely to be among its main attractions.
Geely has also focused heavily on interior packaging. The EX2 provides 375 litres of rear cargo space, a 70-litre front storage compartment and additional storage beneath the front seats.
More than 30 storage areas are positioned throughout the cabin, including a drawer-style glovebox.
Both grades are equipped with a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument display, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The higher-grade Inspire adds features including heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a power tailgate, upgraded audio and a 360-degree camera.
Geely Connected Services are expected to become available from August, allowing owners to remotely access functions including climate control, charging schedules, door locks, windows and vehicle status information.
The EX2 also carries a broad range of standard driver-assistance technology, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assistance and driver fatigue monitoring.
Seven airbags are standard across the range.
The new hatchback will be available in six exterior colours, with the Inspire distinguished by a contrasting black roof and additional exterior detailing.
Geely says the EX2 was the world’s best-selling small electric vehicle in 2025, recording almost 460,000 global deliveries across the EX2 and its related model names.
Its Australian arrival will give buyers another lower-cost entry point into electric motoring while increasing competition in a small-EV segment that continues to attract new models and brands.
