BYD has detailed the 2026 ATTO 3 EVO for Australia, with the updated electric SUV receiving revised styling, a redesigned interior and significant drivetrain changes for the Premium variant.
The ATTO 3 EVO will continue to be offered in Dynamic and Premium grades, although the two versions now use different drivetrain configurations.
The entry-level Dynamic remains front-wheel drive and uses a 60.48kWh Blade Battery. Its electric motor produces 150kW and 310Nm, with BYD quoting a WLTP driving range of up to 420km.
The Premium receives the more substantial mechanical changes, moving from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and adopting a 74.88kWh battery.
Motor output increases to 230kW and 380Nm, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.5 seconds. WLTP range rises to 510km.
Faster charging for Premium
The Premium also moves to an 800V electrical architecture and supports DC charging at up to 220kW.
BYD claims a zero to 80 per cent charge can be completed in 25 minutes. AC charging capacity is rated at 11kW.
The Dynamic retains its 400V architecture, with maximum DC charging of 110kW and AC charging of 7kW. BYD quotes a zero to 80 per cent charging time of 41 minutes for the Dynamic.
Both variants include 3.3kW vehicle-to-load functionality, allowing the traction battery to supply power to external electrical equipment.
For fleet operators, the increase in range and DC charging capacity on the Premium may be relevant for applications involving higher daily kilometres or greater reliance on public fast-charging infrastructure.
Additional storage space
External dimensions remain unchanged at 4,455mm long, 1,875mm wide and 1,615mm high, with a 2,720mm wheelbase. Styling changes include a revised front bumper, full-width daytime running lights and updated rear lighting.
The rear-wheel-drive layout of the Premium also changes the available storage space.
Rear luggage capacity increases from 434 litres to 490 litres, while capacity with the second-row seats folded increases from 1,340 to 1,360 litres.
A 101-litre front storage compartment has also been added to the Premium, providing additional space for items such as charging cables.
The Premium’s braked towing capacity is rated at 1,500kg.
Interior changes
The ATTO 3 EVO receives a revised interior, including a column-mounted gear selector that replaces the previous centre-console arrangement.
The driver’s display increases from five inches to 8.8 inches, while other changes include redesigned door panels, new seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers and 50W wireless phone charging.
Dynamic models include a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats and an eight-speaker audio system.
The Premium adds dual-zone climate control and four-way powered lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat.
The infotainment system retains wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the BYD App supports functions including remote locking, climate control, window operation and vehicle location.
Additional driver assistance systems
The updated model also introduces additional driver assistance features.
Child Presence Detection is designed to detect an occupant remaining inside the vehicle after it has been locked, while a Driver Monitoring System monitors for signs of fatigue or distraction.
Premium models also receive Front Cross Traffic Alert and Front Cross Traffic Brake.
