BMW’s sleek, all-electric i4 Gran Coupé is making a comeback to Australian showrooms before the end of 2025 — this time with a simplified line-up and a bigger dose of standard kit.
The refreshed BMW i4 eDrive35 now stands alone as the sole variant in the range, priced at $88,900 plus on-road costs— keeping it neatly under the $91,387 fuel-efficient Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold. That’s a sweet spot for novated lease buyers and fleets looking to blend luxury with tax-friendly pricing.
More Range, Less Energy
The new i4 doesn’t just look sharper — it’s smarter under the skin too. Thanks to new silicon carbide semiconductor components in the power electronics, BMW says the i4 now uses 4.5% less energy, stretching its ADR 81/02 range to 448km (up from 430km). The figures come from a 66.4kWh battery and a rear-mounted 210kW/400Nm motor, delivering 0–100km/h in 6.0 seconds.
Fast charging is still a highlight: DC up to 180kW for a 10–80% top-up in around 32 minutes or a full overnight charge via an 11kW AC wallbox.
Standard M Sport and Premium Touches
Every i4 eDrive35 now rolls off the line with the M Sport Package as standard — complete with sportier bumpers, side skirts, and a diffuser for a more assertive stance. There’s also a new diamond-textured kidney grille and updated headlights with vertical daytime running lights for a cleaner, more modern look.
Inside, BMW has turned up the luxury with a flat-bottom M leather steering wheel, heated front seats, and an electric glass sunroof — all now standard. The interior tech suite remains first-class with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Head-Up Display, Parking Assistant Plus, 3-zone climate control, and wireless phone charging all included.
Designed for Fleet and Private Buyers Alike
For fleet operators, the i4 offers the right mix of sustainability, brand prestige, and performance. With energy consumption listed at just 163Wh/km, it’s an efficient choice for organisations pursuing EV targets or carbon reduction programs. And for novated lease customers, the sub-LCT pricing and low running costs make it an appealing step into premium electric mobility.
