Mazda has confirmed pricing and specification for the all-new, all-electric Mazda 6e, marking the brand’s first mainstream battery electric vehicle (BEV) for Australia.
For Fleet Managers and Sustainability Managers assessing EV options in the medium passenger segment, the Mazda 6e combines competitive range, strong standard specification and an established national dealer network.
RWD Platform with 560km WLTP Range
The Mazda 6e is powered by a rear-wheel drive electric motor producing 190kW and 290Nm, paired with a 78kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.
Mazda claims combined energy consumption of 15.9kWh/100km and a WLTP driving range of up to 560km .
For organisations managing regional travel or higher kilometre utilisation profiles, the 560km WLTP range positions the 6e as a viable alternative to traditional petrol and diesel medium cars.
The vehicle is equipped with a CCS Type-2 charging port and is capable of DC charging from 30 to 80 per cent in as little as 15 minutes , supporting reduced downtime for operational fleets.

A comprehensive safety suite is standard, including Smart Brake Support for turning across traffic with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a Driver Monitoring system .
Strategic Implications for Fleets
The Mazda 6e enters an increasingly competitive mid-size EV market with a clear focus on value, range and specification.
For organisations developing their first EV transition plan, the 6e offers:
- Over 500km WLTP range
- Competitive entry pricing under $50,000
- LFP battery chemistry, often viewed favourably for durability and cost stability
- Nationwide dealer support across almost 150 locations
As fleet management maturity increases, vehicle selection decisions will rely more heavily on utilisation data, charging strategy and total cost of ownership modelling rather than upfront price alone. The Mazda 6e provides another viable option for passenger fleets seeking to reduce tailpipe emissions without compromising range or driver comfort.
With pre-orders now open and deliveries commencing from July, the Mazda 6e represents a significant step in Mazda’s transition into the mainstream electric vehicle market.
