DEEPAL Australia is accelerating its expansion, announcing a major increase in its dealership footprint alongside intelligent software upgrades for its S07 electric SUV. The strategy is designed to build confidence in the brand as it prepares for the launch of two new models in 2025.
Dealer network moves beyond metro markets
After launching locally with four dealerships in late 2024, DEEPAL has grown rapidly to nine by early 2025 and is now adding another five metro locations in July. New sites include:
- Wollongong, NSW – Autopact Group
- Penrith, NSW – Inchcape Automotive Retail
- Bundoora, VIC – Inchcape Automotive Retail
- Deer Park, VIC – Kevin Dennis
- Glen Waverley, VIC – Garry and Warren Smith
By the end of Q3, DEEPAL expects to double its footprint again, extending into regional centres such as Liverpool, Geelong, Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Frankston, Gold Coast, Darwin, Lilydale, Toowoomba and Werribee.
This represents a shift from being metro-focused to becoming a genuinely national brand. For fleet operators in regional areas, the added dealer coverage means better access to test drives, sales advice, and long-term servicing – all critical considerations when evaluating new suppliers.
Intelligent software upgrades for the S07
In parallel with the network expansion, DEEPAL has rolled out over-the-air software upgrades to the S07 SUV, designed in response to customer and media feedback. Improvements include:
- Faster, more responsive infotainment interface
- Smarter energy management to optimise driving range
- Enhanced voice command functionality
Cormac Cafolla, General Manager at DEEPAL Australia, said:
“We’ve listened closely to our customers and moved quickly to deliver a more intelligent, refined, and responsive EV driving experience. Feedback since the update has been resoundingly positive.”
For fleets trialling or adopting EVs, these upgrades highlight the increasing importance of software in vehicle performance and usability. Unlike traditional vehicles, EVs can gain meaningful improvements post-purchase through updates – potentially extending the useful life of the asset.
Two new models on the way
DEEPAL is also preparing to broaden its line-up with the launch of two models in 2025:
- E07 Multitruck – positioned as a versatile electric commercial vehicle
- S05 Small SUV – aimed at delivering advanced features and affordability in a compact form
Cafolla added that the expansion was about more than growth:
“This expansion is about delivering on our promise to make premium yet affordable electric vehicles accessible to all Australians, not just those in major cities.”
For fleet buyers, the E07 in particular will be one to watch, as the market for smaller electric trucks and vans is becoming increasingly competitive.
What it means for fleets
For organisations considering EV adoption, DEEPAL’s strategy signals a few key points:
- Improved access to servicing – With factory-trained technicians and an expanding regional presence, fleets can plan around reduced downtime risks.
- Confidence in support – Inchcape’s role as distributor provides a backbone of aftersales expertise, which is critical for emerging EV brands.
- Ongoing vehicle improvements – Software-driven enhancements mean the S07 can evolve over time, reducing the risk of early obsolescence.
With more models coming and wider coverage across Australia, DEEPAL is positioning itself as a challenger brand in both the passenger and light commercial EV market.
