Polestar has taken centre stage with the global debut of its highly anticipated Polestar 5 electric performance GT at an exclusive event in Munich, reinforcing its role as Europe’s first pure EV brand.
Driving Policy and Progress
Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller used the international stage to urge EU policymakers to maintain the 2035 target to end sales of new combustion cars.
“The EU’s 2035 target to end sales of new combustion cars was a turning point. It gave clarity to the industry, direction to investors and certainty to consumers. Weakening it now would send the opposite signal: that Europe can be talked out of its own commitments. That would not only harm the climate. It would harm Europe’s ability to compete.”
Expanding the EV Line-Up
Polestar continues to grow its global presence, with cars available in 28 markets across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Its current line-up includes the Polestar 2 fastback, Polestar 3 SUV, and Polestar 4 SUV coupé. Looking ahead, the Polestar 6 roadster and Polestar 7 compact SUV are in development, with Polestar 7 set to be built in Europe.
A Strong Sustainability Roadmap
Polestar has placed sustainability at the core of its strategy. The company aims to cut per-vehicle greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030 and achieve full climate neutrality across its value chain by 2040. This strategy is anchored in four key pillars: Climate, Transparency, Circularity, and Inclusion.
