ANCAP Safety, Australia and New Zealand’s independent voice on vehicle safety, has awarded the all-new Renault Megane E-Tech a coveted 5-star safety rating.
Arriving in Australia now, all-new Renault Megane E-Tech is a 100% electric compact crossover that combines breakthrough design, an exhilarating drive, and a reimagined in-car experience.
“We’re delighted that ANCAP has recognised Renault’s continued commitment to safety with the all-new Renault Megane E-Tech,” says Glen Sealey, Renault Australia General Manager.
“Not only does it come with a host of passive, active and advanced driver assistance systems, the Megane E-Tech also benefits from Renault’s unique global safety initiative: Human First.”
The Human First programme demonstrates Renault’s commitment to protecting all road users by focusing on three key safety-related pillars:
- Preventing accidents by developing advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and safety equipment
- Managing road accidents more effectively by establishing a unique partnership with firefighters from across the globe
- Reducing the number of accidents by making substantial investments in R&D
All-new Renault Megane E-Tech comes with a host of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard, from automatic emergency braking with junction assist that can detect pedestrians and cyclists, to emergency lane keeping assist with oncoming traffic and road-edge detection.
Traffic sign recognition, hill start assist, driver drowsiness alert, distance warning alert and adaptive cruise control all help to make driving easier and safer in the conditions we find ourselves every day.
And it was these systems that helped Megane E-Tech secured ANCAP’s 5-star rating, the vehicle scoring 88% for child occupant protection; 85% for adult occupant protection, 80% in the safety assist category and 65% for vulnerable road user protection.
All-New Renault Megane E-Tech is available to order, priced from $64,990 plus on road costs. All model specification information is available at www.renault.com.au or at your local Renault Dealer. Full details including equipment and technical specification are listed below.

(1) based on WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure) static laboratory combined average city and highway cycle test, which measures energy consumption, range and emissions in passenger vehicles, designed to provide figures closer to real-world driving behaviour. Real life driving results will vary depending on driving style, type of journey, battery age and condition, use of vehicle features (such as heating and air conditioning), as well as operating, environmental and climate conditions.
(2) the charging time and driving range recovered depend on the temperature, wear of the battery, power delivered by the charging point, your driving style and your charge level.
