KGM Australia has strengthened its electrification strategy with the introduction of the Actyon Hybrid, adding a second hybrid model to its local range following the Torres Hybrid.
The Actyon Hybrid brings a full hybrid powertrain to KGM’s coupe-style SUV, combining a turbocharged petrol engine with dual electric motors and a dedicated hybrid transmission. The move reflects the brand’s focus on improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions while maintaining the design, space and equipment levels expected by Australian buyers.
Under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with KGM’s Dual-Tech Hybrid system, delivering a combined system output of 150 kW. The hybrid system is designed to maximise electric assistance in urban driving while retaining petrol power for longer journeys, with a claimed combined fuel consumption of 5.5 L/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 127 g/km (ADR 81/02).
For fleet and business buyers, the Actyon Hybrid’s positioning sits firmly in the “transition technology” category — offering meaningful emissions reductions and fuel savings without the operational changes required for battery electric vehicles. With front-wheel drive, a braked towing capacity of 1,300 kg and a generous cargo area of up to 1,440 litres with seats folded, it is aimed at organisations needing a versatile SUV with improved efficiency.
KGM Australia Head of Sales and Marketing Mathew Sondergeld said the hybrid powertrain adds to the Actyon’s appeal by combining performance, efficiency and practicality. He noted that the vehicle allows customers to experience advanced hybrid technology without sacrificing design or everyday usability.
Two grades will be offered locally — K50 and K60 — both with high levels of standard equipment. Across the range, features include 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, a panoramic digital display with dual 12.3-inch screens, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and a hands-free power tailgate. The K60 adds premium features such as a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging and rear sun blinds.
Safety technology is comprehensive, with a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems fitted as standard, including autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and driver attention monitoring.
The Actyon Hybrid is backed by KGM’s 7-year unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, with the high-voltage battery covered for 7 years or 150,000 kilometres, alongside five years of roadside assistance.
Vehicles are now arriving at selected KGM dealerships across Australia, adding another hybrid SUV to the local market as fleets consider lower-emission alternatives to conventional petrol models.
