Exploren has officially become the largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), with 93 charging ports now operating across 27 locations.
The network’s footprint covers key destinations including Parliament House, the Royal Australian Mint, the Australian National University, Next Gen Canberra and Marketplace Gungahlin — making it easier than ever for EV drivers to recharge around the city.
The expansion follows EVSE’s acquisition of ENGIE’s Australian and New Zealand EV charging network earlier this year, further strengthening Exploren’s position as a leading player in the public charging space.
Most sites are equipped with DC fast chargers capable of replenishing an EV battery in just 30 to 40 minutes. For drivers, this means greater flexibility and convenience, especially during longer journeys.
EVSE CEO Brendan Wheeler said the milestone reflects the company’s commitment to accelerating the shift to electric mobility.
“We’re incredibly proud to see the Exploren network become the largest in the ACT. This milestone reflects our ongoing investment in making EV charging more accessible, reliable and convenient for every driver,” he said.
“The ACT has been leading the country in EV adoption, and we’re committed to supporting that growth with fast, intelligent infrastructure that keeps drivers moving, whether they’re at home, at work, or on the road.”
According to the Electric Vehicle Council’s State of EVs 2025 report, the ACT leads Australia in EV adoption as a percentage of new vehicle sales — a trend supported by its strong policy framework and early investment in charging infrastructure.
EVSE continues to build on this momentum through its Exploren network, offering smart, connected charging solutions for residential, commercial, and public use across Australia and New Zealand.
As the number of EVs on Australian roads grows rapidly, the expansion of networks like Exploren will be critical in giving drivers confidence to make the switch and in supporting organisations that operate electric fleets.
