Suzuki Australia has confirmed the arrival of three all-new SUV models designed to meet growing demand for fuel-efficient and sustainable mobility. The line-up includes the all-new Fronx Hybrid, the Vitara Hybrid, and Suzuki’s first fully electric model, the e Vitara. These new offerings are part of a strategic shift by Suzuki towards electrified mobility while maintaining the brand’s reputation for practicality and value.
Fronx Hybrid: Compact Coupe-Inspired Crossover
Arriving in Australia from 1st September 2025, the all-new Fronx Hybrid is Suzuki’s latest contender in the Light SUV segment. Its name, drawn from the phrase “Frontier Crossover,” signals a new direction for the brand. Featuring a sleek coupe SUV design, the Fronx combines sporty styling with the convenience of a compact body – ideal for city driving or young drivers transitioning from hatchbacks.
Key features include:
- Coupe-style crossover body with dynamic lines
- Latest Suzuki safety technology
- Compact yet roomy design for urban manoeuvrability
- Hybrid powertrain for improved fuel economy
Michael Pachota, General Manager – Automobile at Suzuki Australia, said:
“With the launch of the all-new Fronx Hybrid, we’re combining unique sporty styling with SUV heritage to deliver an exciting new product to our line-up. Not only solidifying our presence in the Light SUV segment, but this vehicle will also open the doors to younger buyers looking to upgrade from a smaller hatchback to an SUV.”
The Fronx Hybrid is expected to offer competitive pricing, likely in the $30,000–$35,000 range, making it suitable for novated leasing and fleet use where lower running costs and compact dimensions are key.
Vitara Hybrid: Suzuki’s Popular Nameplate Goes Greener
In early 2026, Suzuki will introduce a hybrid version of the long-running Vitara, expanding the popular SUV’s appeal to buyers seeking better fuel economy without compromising performance.
Highlights:
- Hybrid powertrain for improved efficiency
- Retains the practical and adventure-ready Vitara design
- Modern safety and convenience features
Pachota described the move as a “major milestone,” noting that:
“It shows our commitment to sustainable mobility and expands the options for customers seeking more environmentally friendly driving without sacrificing the performance or features they know and love.”
The Vitara Hybrid is expected to appeal to fleets with mixed urban and regional duties thanks to its known reliability and now improved efficiency.
e Vitara: Suzuki’s First All-Electric Model
Also launching in Q1 2026 is the all-electric e Vitara – Suzuki’s debut into the battery-electric vehicle (BEV) space. Designed as an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser,” the e Vitara aims to balance capability and zero-emissions driving.
What we know so far:
- BEV with nimble performance and strong driving dynamics
- ALLGRIP-e electric 4WD system for traction in all conditions
- Stylish, modern exterior with premium interior design cues
Pachota added:
“The e Vitara is our bold step into the future of mobility. It delivers on everything Suzuki drivers expect including reliability, capability and value, and now zero-emissions performance. It’s a proud moment as we take our first leap into the electric space.”
While final pricing and specifications are yet to be announced, the e Vitara is expected to compete in the $45,000–$55,000 price bracket, making it eligible for FBT exemption under current novated lease arrangements for electric vehicles.
What This Means for Fleets and Novated Buyers
Suzuki’s shift to hybrid and electric powertrains aligns with tightening emissions standards and the Australian Government’s New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES). These three new models offer affordable options for organisations looking to cut fuel use and emissions without compromising versatility.
For Fleet Managers, the Fronx Hybrid introduces a new city-friendly SUV option with lower emissions. The Vitara Hybrid continues the legacy of a dependable mid-size SUV, now more efficient. And the e Vitara offers an opportunity to trial an electric SUV with all-wheel-drive capability – a rarity at the affordable end of the EV market.
For novated lease buyers, all three models provide compelling lifestyle upgrades with potential tax savings, especially the e Vitara under the current FBT exemption.
Suzuki is clearly signalling its intent to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving Australian vehicle market. With the Fronx Hybrid arriving this year and the Vitara Hybrid and e Vitara close behind in 2026, Suzuki’s new SUV line-up offers something for every kind of driver – whether you’re managing a fleet, salary packaging a daily driver, or just seeking better value in a lower-emission SUV.
