Leapmotor Australia has upgraded its C10 Design electric SUV for MY26, introducing a longer-range version with an 81.9kWh battery, 800V electrical architecture and up to 180kW DC fast-charging capability.
The Leapmotor C10 Design Long Range BEV adds more range, stronger performance and shorter charging times, giving the model a more capable specification for Australian electric vehicle buyers.
The upgraded model is rated for up to 510km of driving range under the WLTP test cycle, or 605km under NEDC testing. That gives the C10 a stronger range figure for fleets and private buyers seeking an electric SUV that can cover regular regional travel as well as urban duties.
Bigger battery, faster charging
At the centre of the MY26 update is an 81.9kWh battery combined with an 800V high-voltage electrical system.
Leapmotor says the architecture helps reduce fast-charging losses and supports a lighter, more efficient system design. The C10 Design LR can accept DC charging at up to 180kW, with the battery able to charge from 30 to 80 per cent in around 22 minutes under suitable charging and environmental conditions.
For fleet operators, faster DC charging can improve the practicality of electric vehicles that regularly complete longer trips or have limited dwell time between duties. Real-world charging times will still depend on charger capability, battery temperature, weather and the vehicle’s state of charge on arrival.
More power for the long-range C10
The MY26 C10 Design LR also receives a higher-output electric motor, producing 220kW of power and 360Nm of torque.
Leapmotor claims the updated SUV can accelerate from 0–100km/h in 6.2 seconds, while the high-voltage system supports stronger regenerative braking to recover more energy during deceleration.
The company says the upgrades are intended to improve both high-speed efficiency and responsiveness, addressing two areas that can influence real-world electric vehicle energy use for drivers operating on motorways and longer regional routes.
Small updates for ownership confidence
Alongside the larger technical changes, Leapmotor has made several smaller updates to the C10 Design LR for 2026.
Two NFC keycards are now standard, while the vehicle receives Yokohama ADVAN Sport EV tyres intended to improve grip and handling precision. The tyre inflation kit has also been updated to include a sealant canister for additional roadside support.
Buyers can choose between black or camel brown interior finishes. Exterior colours include Terra Grey, Metallic Black, Jade Green, Midnight Grey and a new Light White option.
A stronger proposition in the electric SUV market
The latest C10 update reflects the growing importance of battery size, charging speed and long-distance usability in the electric SUV segment.
A 510km WLTP range figure and 180kW DC charging place the MY26 C10 Design LR in a stronger position for buyers who may have previously viewed lower-priced EVs as primarily urban vehicles. For fleets, the combination could make the C10 more relevant for employee-allocated vehicles, executive transport and organisations seeking to expand EV use beyond predictable metropolitan driving patterns.
