Fleet Managers, Sustainability Managers and Finance Managers considering electric vehicles for their organisations will find this month’s Melbourne International EV AutoShow an essential event to attend.
Now in its third year, the show — presented by Future Drive AutoShows — will take place this June following record attendance at its Sydney counterpart last November. Over 100 vehicles will be on display, including plug-in hybrids, battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and hybrid models.
Brands such as Xpeng, Polestar, Leapmotor, Farizon and SMART will be joined by premium marques including Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, providing a broad view of the growing range of electrified vehicles suitable for both business and personal fleets.
Notably, the event will mark the first Australian public appearance of the Rolls-Royce Spectre, alongside show cars like the Ferrari 296 GTB and Ferrari SF90.
“Never been a better time”
“Future Drive is proud to bring the show back to Melbourne,” said Ray Evans, CEO of Future Drive AutoShows. “With growing government support and new incentives accelerating EV adoption, there’s never been a better time for individuals and businesses alike to explore the benefits of switching to cleaner, smarter transport.”
Addressing affordability and charging barriers
With popular EV models now priced from $29,990 to $58,900, the transition to lower-cost, low-emission fleet vehicles is becoming more viable.
“For many electric vehicle owners it is now possible to fully charge your car for under $5 and conveniently at home,” said Riz Akhtar, founder of EV data company carloop. “With the purchase of your EV you now have the option to buy a charger with the vehicle, or other charging options are now as low as $500 to install at home, saving you time and money.”
Vehicle-to-Grid driving future opportunities
For Sustainability Managers, the evolution of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability is a key opportunity.
At last year’s Sydney show, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen announced new standards enabling Australian EV owners to power their homes and sell energy back to the grid. The Melbourne show will continue to educate fleets on how to leverage this capability, with $2.3 billion in battery incentives and more than 50%of current EV owners expressing interest in V2G.
“Using your EV to eliminate electricity bills will transform Australia’s power grid, accelerating the retirement of our ageing, costly coal plants for good,” said Sam Evans, EV expert and influencer known as The Electric Viking. “Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology will revolutionise our country by democratising energy, empowering millions of Australians to achieve true energy independence. Visit the Melbourne EV AutoShow and discover how you can join this groundbreaking movement.”
Policy momentum
The Victorian Government has set a target for 50% of all light vehicles to be zero emission by 2030. Nationally, incentives include the $2.3 billion battery program and Fringe Benefit Tax deductions — particularly attractive for fleets using novated leasing to drive EV adoption. An additional $150 million in low-interest loans will help more Australians and businesses finance EV purchases.
“EVs are the future, and now is the time to embrace this cleaner, more affordable, tech-driven form of transportation,” said Ray Evans. “We’re excited to welcome even more Australians who are making the switch to EVs and looking to learn, explore, and experience what’s next in the automotive space.”

“I’m looking forward to attending the Melbourne International EV AutoShow as it will be a valuable opportunity to hear from experts on developments in EV battery technology, Vehicle-to-Grid integration, and the role of energy storage in our broader energy system,” said Tom Gan, EV expert and host of Ludicrous Feed. “I’m also keen to see the latest range of electric vehicles on display — including models from China that are helping shape global EV trends. As Australia navigates the shift toward broader EV adoption, the Melbourne International EV AutoShow offers a clear lens into the technologies, policies, and vehicles driving that transition.”
Why it matters for fleet buyers
For Fleet Managers, Sustainability Managers, and Finance Managers, the Melbourne International EV AutoShow provides:
- Access to real-world test drives for popular EVs and emerging models
- Insights into charging infrastructure developments and V2G integration
- Opportunities to explore finance and leasing solutions under current incentives
- A chance to engage directly with industry experts and see where the EV market is heading next
With lower running costs, tax advantages, and maturing vehicle and charging options, the show is an ideal touchpoint for fleet buyers looking to map out their next wave of fleet investments.
