Polestar will expand the Polestar 4 range with a new SUV variant, with sales due to begin in September.
The new model will sit alongside the existing Polestar 4 coupé.
More practical addition to the range
The Polestar 4 SUV is intended to broaden the model’s appeal to buyers who want more conventional SUV practicality than the existing coupé body provides.
Polestar says the new version will offer more versatile storage while retaining the design and sustainability approach of the current Polestar 4.
The SUV and the latest version of the Polestar 4 coupé will also receive retuned chassis components intended to sharpen their driving dynamics.
Rear- and dual-motor options
Both body styles will continue to use a 400-volt electrical architecture.
Rear-motor versions will offer up to 630km of WLTP driving range, while dual-motor models will produce up to 544hp, equivalent to approximately 400kW.
Further specifications, including battery capacity, charging performance and local variant details, are expected closer to the sales launch.
More choice for EV fleets
The new SUV reflects the increasing variety available to fleet buyers as manufacturers expand beyond single-body EV line-ups.
The addition of a more conventional SUV body could make the Polestar 4 more suitable for executive fleets, salary-packaged vehicles and higher-mileage passenger transport roles where luggage space and everyday practicality are important.
The Polestar 4 SUV will be manufactured in Busan, South Korea, and is expected to be offered in most Polestar markets.
