Hyundai Motor Company Australia has confirmed a new electric SUV for local buyers, announcing the all-new ELEXIO will arrive in Australia in Q1 2026.
Positioned as a medium SUV, ELEXIO slots neatly between the KONA Electric and the IONIQ 5, giving fleet and novated lease buyers another option in a fast-growing EV segment that balances size, range and value.
One grade, clear proposition for fleets
At launch, ELEXIO will be offered in a single Elite trim grade, simplifying specification decisions for fleet buyers. Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 160kW and 310Nm, paired with an 88kWh LFP battery delivering a claimed 546km WLTP driving range.
Built on Hyundai’s 400V E-GMP platform, ELEXIO supports DC fast charging from 10–80 per cent in as little as 38 minutes, helping reduce downtime for drivers covering higher daily kilometre loads .Hyundai is quoting an energy consumption figure of 18.2 kWh/100km, placing ELEXIO firmly in the conversation for fleets looking to reduce operating costs without stepping into smaller vehicle segments.
Local ride and handling tuning
A key detail for Australian fleets is Hyundai’s focus on local chassis development. ELEXIO has undergone a bespoke Australian suspension and steering tuning program, with engineers evaluating springs, dampers and anti-roll bars to suit local road conditions.
This local calibration is aimed squarely at improving comfort, stability and refinement—factors that matter just as much to fleets as range and charging speed, particularly for vehicles spending long hours on coarse-chip highways and urban roads.
Interior space and technology focus
Inside, ELEXIO targets family and business use with a 506-litre boot, expanding to 1,540 litres with the rear seats folded. Standard equipment includes leather-appointed seating, heated and ventilated front seats, dual wireless phone chargers and a powered tailgate.
ELEXIO will also debut Hyundai’s new Connect-C infotainment system in Australia. Based on Android Automotive OS, it features a 27-inch integrated 4K panoramic display, head-up display, over-the-air software updates, Bluelink connected services and Digital Key 2 smartphone access .
For fleets, OTA capability is becoming increasingly important, allowing vehicles to improve functionality and software performance over the ownership cycle without workshop visits.
Safety well covered
The ELEXIO Elite arrives with an extensive list of active safety and driver assistance systems as standard. These include Highway Driving Assist 2, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Remote Smart Park Assist 3, Surround View Monitor and a total of nine airbags.
This level of standard safety specification will be important for organisations with strict fleet safety policies and ANCAP-aligned procurement requirements.
Pricing and ownership support
Hyundai has confirmed a $59,990 drive-away introductory price for the ELEXIO Elite, covering both private and fleet buyers at launch .
Ownership is backed by Hyundai’s 7-year unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty (when serviced within the network) and an 8-year/160,000km high-voltage battery warranty, along with lifetime roadside assistance when serviced by Hyundai.
Fleet takeaway
With competitive pricing, a long-range battery, fast-charge capability and local ride tuning, Hyundai ELEXIO shapes up as a strong contender for fleets and novated lease buyers wanting to transition drivers into EVs without compromising space or usability. Final specifications will be confirmed closer to its early-2026 launch, but on paper, ELEXIO looks purpose-built for Australia’s next wave of electric fleet adoption .
