Leapmotor’s new B10 small electric SUV has achieved a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, following local testing under the 2023–2025 assessment criteria.
The five-star result applies to all Leapmotor B10 variants sold in Australia and includes strong performance across Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection and Safety Assist. Of note for fleet and family use, the B10 recorded a 95 per cent score for Child Occupant Protection, equal to the highest result achieved under the current ANCAP protocols.
Leapmotor Australia Head, Andy Hoang, said the result was an important milestone as the brand establishes itself locally, highlighting the company’s focus on engineering vehicles that meet Australian safety expectations from launch.
ANCAP Chief Executive Officer Carla Hoorweg said independent safety assessment remains critical as new brands and models enter the Australian market, providing buyers with clear and comparable information regardless of vehicle badge or price point.
For organisations considering battery-electric vehicles within light-duty fleets, the five-star ANCAP outcome positions the Leapmotor B10 as a credible option from a safety and risk-management perspective. Independent safety performance is a key consideration for Fleet Managers balancing duty of care obligations alongside emissions-reduction goals and whole-of-life cost assessments.
