Omoda Jaecoo will expand its Australian SUV line-up in 2027 with the arrival of the new Omoda 4 and Omoda 7, with both models set to offer new energy powertrain options as the brand builds its presence in the local electrified vehicle market.
Both SUVs will sit below the Omoda 9, giving the brand additional coverage across two important parts of the Australian SUV market. The Omoda 7 will compete as a mid-size SUV, while the smaller Omoda 4 is being positioned as a compact SUV aimed at younger buyers.
While Omoda Jaecoo has not yet confirmed Australian powertrain specifications, the company says electrified options will form part of the strategy for the two vehicles.
Roy Munoz, Chief Commercial Officer of Omoda Jaecoo Australia, said Australian customers were increasingly looking for a combination of technology, value and powertrain choice.
“Australian customers are looking for vehicles that combine distinctive design, advanced technology, strong value and electrified powertrain options.”
For fleet buyers, the arrival of another two electrified SUVs will add to the rapidly expanding choice of vehicles available across the compact and mid-size segments. Those categories are particularly relevant to organisations looking to transition passenger and user-chooser fleets away from traditional internal-combustion models without moving into larger or more expensive SUVs.
Munoz said expanding the company’s new energy portfolio was an important part of its Australian growth plans.
“Expanding our new energy range is central to our growth in Australia, because it gives buyers the choice to match the technology to the way they actually drive.”
That approach could become increasingly important for fleets as manufacturers offer multiple electrification pathways rather than relying on a single powertrain solution. However, Omoda Jaecoo has yet to reveal which specific powertrains will be offered locally in the Omoda 4 and Omoda 7, meaning fleet operators will need to wait for final specifications before assessing range, charging requirements, operating costs and whole-of-life cost.
Australian buyers will get their first opportunity to see both vehicles at Everything Electric Sydney from 18–20 September 2026, ahead of their planned market introduction.
Both the Omoda 4 and Omoda 7 are expected to reach Australian showrooms during the first half of 2027, with pricing and detailed specifications to be announced closer to launch.
