Kia has revealed images of its incoming EV3 model, ahead of its launch later this month, showing front and rear profiles of the compact SUV.
The teaser images showcase a bold, geometric exterior design, with body lines that are very similar to the concept shown in South Korea last year.
According to Kia, the EV3 design themes are shared with the larger flagship EV9 large SUV and the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy is the foundation for continuity throughout the model range, which can be seen in the EV3 images.
The EV3 sits at the bottom of Kia’s electric range, as both the smallest and likely cheapest option, using the car maker’s 400-volt system rather than the larger 800-volt system used in EV6 and EV9 models.
In terms of its actual dimensions, the EV3 appears to be closer in size to the Seltos than the Sportage, offering a compact city SUV option alongside the larger EV5 medium SUV.
The new Kia EV3 will go on sale later this year following the car’s global world premiere, which will be live-streamed on the Kia Worldwide YouTube channel on May 23rd at 19:00 KST (10:00 GMT / 12:00 CET), however Australian pricing and launch timing are yet to be announced.
