Australia’s increasingly crowded electric vehicle market will welcome another brand in 2027, with Chery Group confirming iCAUR will make its local debut led by the distinctive V25 SUV.
iCAUR has announced plans to officially enter Australia in early 2027, positioning itself as a lifestyle-focused new energy vehicle brand combining electric performance, technology and a deliberately bold design philosophy.
Founded in 2023, the brand is part of Chery Group and is targeting buyers who want something different from the increasingly familiar shapes appearing across the electric SUV market.
Its first Australian model, the iCAUR V25, follows the brand’s “boxy” design language and is intended to bridge everyday urban use with more adventurous driving.
According to iCAUR, the V25 has been developed with a modern digital cabin, intelligent driver assistance systems and a focus on everyday practicality. The company describes it as a vehicle designed to be equally comfortable in the city and beyond the bitumen.
The arrival of iCAUR will also broaden Chery Group’s Australian footprint at a time when Chinese vehicle manufacturers are rapidly expanding the range of electrified products available to Australian buyers.
Kate Gillis, Head of Brand at iCAUR Australia, said the new brand would form part of Chery Group’s longer-term growth strategy.
“Australia is one of Chery Group’s most important international markets, and we’re delighted to introduce iCAUR as the next step in our long-term growth strategy,” Gillis said.
“iCAUR brings a new energy to the market, combining striking design with advanced EV technology and a playful, user-centric spirit.”
Gillis said the company believes Australian motorists are increasingly looking for vehicles that combine technology and capability with a stronger sense of personality.
“The V25 has been developed to meet those expectations while bringing a distinctive personality that will appeal to customers looking for something different,” she said.
For fleet and business buyers, the arrival of another electric SUV brand will add further choice to a segment that is expanding rapidly.
While iCAUR has yet to announce Australian specifications, pricing or detailed launch timing, its positioning suggests the V25 could compete for buyers who want the operating benefits of an EV without adopting the more conventional styling used by many current electric SUVs.
Its more lifestyle-focused positioning could also make the V25 relevant for organisations where vehicles need to serve multiple purposes, particularly when combining employee use, regional travel and customer-facing duties.
Australian buyers will not have to wait until 2027 for their first look at the vehicle.
The iCAUR V25 will make its first Australian public appearance at Everything Electric Sydney, being held from 18–20 September 2026.
The event will provide an early opportunity to see how the V25 fits into the growing selection of electric SUVs heading to Australia before further details on local specifications are released.
iCAUR describes itself as a global Chery Group brand focused on intelligent SUVs combining expressive design, connectivity and lifestyle capability.
With its Australian arrival now confirmed, attention will turn to the V25’s local specification, driving range, charging capability and positioning when those details are announced ahead of the 2027 launch.
