Australia’s rapidly growing electric vehicle market will take centre stage when Everything Electric returns to Sydney in September with more than 100 EV models and thousands of test drives available across three days.
Running from 18–20 September at Sydney Showground, organisers expect more than 40,000 people to attend what is shaping up to be the largest Everything Electric event held globally.
The show arrives as the Australian EV market reaches another major milestone.
By the end of July 2026, 127,244 battery electric vehicles had been sold during the year, representing 17.3 per cent of the total new vehicle market. That figure has already surpassed the 103,269 BEVs sold during the whole of 2025.
Australia’s national electric vehicle fleet is now estimated to have reached approximately 650,000 vehicles.
That growth is also being accompanied by a dramatic increase in model choice.
Everything Electric Sydney will showcase electric cars alongside vans, trucks, motorcycles, e-bikes, commercial vehicles and even electric boats.
Manufacturers confirmed for the event include BYD, Cadillac, Chery, Farizon, Forthing, Genesis, Geely, GAC, GWM, Hyundai, Icaur, IM, Lepas, MG, Omoda Jaecoo, Polestar, Subaru, Weichai and Zeekr.
A number of new model launches are also expected during the show.
Drive before you decide
One of the major attractions will be the Everything Electric EV Test Drive Experience.
More than 100 electric vehicles are expected to be available to drive, with organisers planning more than 7,500 test drives during the event.
The scale gives prospective EV buyers — including fleet operators — an opportunity to compare different vehicles back-to-back rather than relying solely on specifications or short dealership demonstrations.
Electric motorcycles and scooters will also be available for appropriately licensed riders, while e-bikes, scooters and skateboards will feature on a dedicated micro-mobility test track.
Dan Caesar, Global CEO of Everything Electric, said Australians were increasingly recognising the financial as well as environmental case for electrification.
“Australia’s transition to electric is accelerating rapidly; EV sales have already surpassed 2025 figures,” Caesar said.
“Everything Electric Sydney comes at a pivotal time, with more choice, better technology and greater consumer interest than we’ve ever seen.”
EVs become part of the wider energy conversation
Everything Electric has also evolved beyond being simply a vehicle show.
Solar generation, battery storage, smart meters, EV charging and vehicle-to-grid technology will all feature prominently as consumers and businesses increasingly consider how electric vehicles interact with the wider energy system.
More than 40 live sessions will run across two theatres, including discussions on next-generation EVs, vehicle-to-grid technology, range, charging and buying new or used electric vehicles.
Companies including Ausgrid, Origin Energy, Amber Electric and Schneider Electric will also participate in the home energy section.
For fleet operators, understanding that broader ecosystem is becoming increasingly important as electric vehicles move into larger numbers across corporate and government fleets.
With Australian EV sales accelerating and the number of available models continuing to expand, September’s Everything Electric Sydney will provide one of the clearest snapshots yet of how quickly the market is changing.
Everything Electric Sydney runs from 18–20 September 2026 at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.
