SG Fleet has announced a new partnership with EV charging specialist Ohme, giving its customers access to smart home charging solutions as electric vehicle adoption continues to grow across Australia.
The agreement will see SG Fleet recommend Ohme’s Home Pro and ePod home chargers to its EV customers, supported by a national installation network and ongoing customer service.
The partnership is designed to simplify the transition to electric vehicles by providing drivers with a complete home charging solution, including charger supply, installation and smart charging technology that can help reduce charging costs.
Michelle Thomas, Chief Innovation and Product Officer at SG Fleet, said the partnership aligns with the company’s strategy of supporting customers through the shift to electric mobility.
“Ohme’s home EV chargers and its ethos as a company fit perfectly with SG Fleet’s goal of delivering safe, efficient and high-quality solutions for our customers and is a natural progression of our eStart program to help the switch towards EVs,” said Thomas.
SG Fleet manages more than 210,000 vehicles in Australia and has been expanding its support services for organisations and drivers transitioning to electric vehicles. The company said selecting a charging partner with established fleet experience was an important consideration.
“With more than 210,000 vehicles under management with SG Fleet in Australia, partnering with Ohme which offers a technology trusted by energy providers, fleets and automotive partners internationally, reinforces SG Fleet’s commitment to providing its customers with proven, future-ready charging solutions,” Thomas added.
For Fleet Managers, access to a reliable home charging solution is becoming increasingly important as more organisations introduce EVs through salary packaging, novated leasing programs and operational fleets. Home charging can reduce reliance on public charging infrastructure while providing drivers with a more convenient charging experience.
Ohme already works with SG Fleet in the United Kingdom and will now extend that relationship to the Australian market.
Matthew Evans, Head of Mobility at Ohme Australia, said the partnership would help support the growing demand for EV charging infrastructure.
“We are very proud to be supporting SG Fleet and its customers in their drive towards electric mobility,” said Evans.
“Our charging technology has been adopted by leading organisations globally and we’re excited to bring that depth of experience to SG Fleet’s customers here in Australia.”
Ohme’s smart charging platform is designed to automatically optimise charging schedules, helping drivers take advantage of lower electricity tariffs while reducing the impact on the electricity grid.
The company believes fleet and corporate customers will play a significant role in accelerating EV adoption.
“The EV market share of new car sales in Australia doubled last month compared to 2025 and EV sales have tripled in the first quarter compared to 2022. As EV adoption grows, having a charging partner with proven capability at scale is essential for everyone especially business fleets,” Evans said.
Ohme is currently the largest home EV charging company in the UK and Ireland and has partnerships with automotive brands including Ford, Volkswagen Group, Volvo Cars, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, XPeng and Suzuki.
The partnership provides SG Fleet customers with access to a scalable charging solution that can support everything from individual novated lease drivers through to larger corporate fleet programs, helping organisations address one of the key practical considerations in EV deployment: convenient and cost-effective charging at home.
